About London's Loss? Stroke Man does Edinburgh 2008
The FLM rejection arrived on Monday 26th November, was I demotivated? I was signed up for Edinburgh 2008 before the end of the day! I ran the 2007 FLM in 4.28, raising £5,000 for Stroke Charities and enjoyed every minute. I want sub 4 hours in Scotland.
I took up running in March 2005 after a June 2004 Stroke which left me unable to walk for several days never mind run. At 42 with 3 young kids, it was a big wake up call! I was fortunate, I made a 99.9% recovery, not everyone is so lucky. Don't waste your second chance?
I hope I make as many friends running Edinburgh 2008 as I did London 2007. Wish me luck, The Strokeman is back!
Around the 15th February an Achilles injury appeared and 3 weeks later I broke down completely. It has ruined my training! I have kept myself fit in the gym with long lonely sessions and finally started running again on 9th April. The injury has'nt gone away but I hope to "manage" it and get around the course - the finish time will be reassessed accordingly!!
