Return to normality?

May2920086:23 p.m.

Not yet.

I had an extra day off work on Tuesday (thankfully) and took it easy and drank tea all day.

Wednesday back to work (Bah humbug), I did go to the gym for a very easy stretch, bike, rower, x-trainer and sauna session (the whole of 10 minutes each) but even that tired me out, I was only trying to loosen off a bit.

Thursday, not a bloody thing. The left quad is still quite sore, the right shin also, I am going to lose the big toe nail and first toe nail on left foot and have I mentioned before about a sore achilles on the right leg?

Cannot quite walk without a limp at the moment, until me limbs warm up a bit, old age is a terrible thing - right Janis?

I checked my FLM07/Edinburgh 08 times and at the 10k, Half & 30 K point, I was ahead on my Edinburgh schedule. The wheels really did seize in the last 12 K didn't they? Never mind, theres always another day?

Might go for a swim tomorrow, but at the moment, I am going home.

Can't stop yawning though - something to do with the kids getting me up before 7 every day this week! Halfway I hit 3 hours! Boy did I slow down in the last 3 miles.' added 29th May 2008

  • Short_n_Slow 'Ditto for slowdown in the last half - I was ten minutes slower in the second half - but most of that was the last six miles which were s...l...o...w... Take care and hope you recover soon. When's your next one?' added 30th May 2008

  • a_bet_made_me 'It takes a bit of time as you know to recover from a marathon.. take it easy... rest that Achilles.... you can now sort out that once and for all.. especially in that you achieved your goal in a very respectful time I will add!!! Congratulations once again... time for Ruddy's TLC time..... when's the next one?' added 30th May 2008

  • Pidge 'Hi- congrats on a great achievement and a great time; all the more impressive with one foot hanging off too! Get that achilles sorted now...oh and well done to Hull. But, as my colleague (also a Hull fan) says: "oh God. Bring on the mass humiliation". It may be a tough old season....' added 31st May 2008
