No need to go on about the conditions of the day, as we are well aware of it all. I did finish the course, in 5:52-not bad for walking the last 7+ miles! I am so saddened by the death of the one runner from Michigan.  My heart goes out to his family.

I'm sure we all had PR's in mind, as I did.  I felt as though I was really going to set my PR this year, and had a specific time in mind.  I am in the best shape I've been in -probably in forever! Just not today of course. I'm quite sure I won't do Chicago again for quite awhile. Guess if I am ever going to get that time goal I'll have to go elsewhere.  Next summer I am going to stick to 10k's and maybe a half marathon at the most.

I hope everyone is safe. I've enjoyed jotting down my trials and tribulations with training for the marathon, and I hope you have enjoyed the journey with me.

The positive side of today, is that I raised $10,000 for the American Cancer Society.  I am so happy about that.

All the best to all of you.

I saw a lady in front of me with a pony tail with a blue ACS jersey on it. Was that you? I feel a sense of accomplishment just finishing the race yesterday without ending up in a medical tent. I too, feel awful for the man who passed away yesterday and am saying prayers for his family. Way to Go! Becca' added 8th Oct 2007
