Garstang Half Marathon

I did the Garstang half on the 26th September. I wasn't planning to enter but a number came up and my friend talked me into it. Fortunately for me the race was reduced to 11.8 miles due to flooding. It rained non-stop and there were a number of places where the road was ankle deep. I decided to just enjoy it but ended up pushing myself near the end. Quite an undulating course. Goodness knows how hard it would have been if we'd been able to do the big hill at the end. 1:42:25.
Last Sunday I did the Ormskirk 10K. Again on a spare number. I managed to talk Marie into running too. I didn't feel very up for it so wasn't too unhappy with 50:55. Marie got a PB 54:59 and a number of fellow Striders got PBs. Feeling slightly envious!
I've done some good training runs with PLS over the last couple of weeks and slowly getting fitter after my 3 week break (cold, holiday). Perhaps the rest will save me from a potential injury.
