Head Cases

Jan1620104:24 p.m.

Plan to run at 9.00am sharp. Except on the way out I somehow catch my foot in a door and it slams shut - against the side of my head. Drop to the floor & spend 10 mins in a daze with stars and bluebirds twinkling before my eyes. After an hour or so the bluebirds have been replaced with a gentle throb and I decide to head off. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...

4 miles as per schedule.  All my runs I've managed this week have been 4 miles. That can't be right. Maybe I'm in denial. I don't pass out or keel over en route, so all is good.

Then went to the hairdressers. Tell him I'm doing the marathon.  He says "I had a client who was a great runner & did it in about 2.45. He had a bad thyroid problem & had hospital treatment for it. He told me if he didn't eat regularly he got uncontrollably angry. I asked him how angry. He said 'see those scissors you're holding? I'd grab them out your hand and stab you with them'."

Wow. I know I get a bit cranky if I eat lunch late, but that's impressive.
