8 miles for lunch please
Mar1920103:28 p.m.
Final run of the week at lunchtime today (assuming the running week is Sunday to Saturday) a good 8 mile run, the 2nd half on my own as John had the afternoon off and turned off to home when I turned back.
Aeems to be a thing with me and dogs, a Staff pup was showing me a lot of interest, I wasn't too bothered when it was running alongside me, got a bit annoyed when it kept running in front of me, got a bit scared when it started barking at my groin. The owner then decided to intervene and put it on it's lead so we set off again on our merry way.
A milestone today - I reached the 400 miles mark in my training, no idea if this is enough, only time will tell, although I know I will reach 500 before the marathon so that's something to aim for.
My plan for Sunday was a 15 mile run but I'm tempted to try for another 20. Is this wise a week before a half marathon, if I don't do it this week the Easter will be my next chance. I won't listen to myself, but I may listen to you.
Is it time to start waiting for the postman yet, aren't the packs due to arrive soon.

Suziewee 'I managed a 20 miler the week before a half marathon. I took it easy midweek before the race and I felt great on the day, so if you want to do it, go for it I say! Oh goodness I hope the pack doesn't arrive yet, I don't feel ready for it and I will start losing sleep with nerves if it arrives now!!' added 19th Mar 2010

Firefly123 'Good luck if you do the 20 miles - I would think you'll be OK even with a half the following week. ' added 19th Mar 2010

simonedumergue 'See how you feel on the day re the 20 versus 15. I'm sure you'll be fine though if you take it easier in the week before the Half to compensate. I see you finally have a photo up - always nice to see people for real rather than the default image :-)' added 19th Mar 2010

squa25 'Ooh only just noticed the pic- simone's more observant than me. 20 will be fine so long as you ease off during the week but we're all individuals and depends what you want to achieve during your half. So see how you feel! I've never tallied up my mileage, I don't even know how much I do during a week. I'll have to have a look later! Gulp!!' added 20th Mar 2010
