I thought I had managed to calibrate my ipod but looks like I will have to do it again as I've gone from being slow to fast and I don't think I was as fast as it said., So on Tuesday I'll give it another go!!!
I've been for a few runs since I last blog and am enjoying them - Friday was windy (not as windy as today though when out riding with my son!) but Oscar & I had a good run. We did a fartlek session in the true meaning of the word - I literally picked up the pace whenever I felt like it and for however long I felt like - no pressure, no timing etc - admittedly the big hill up into sedgley is a bit different so I just kept a steady pace going up there with my heart & legs telling me that I was not going to be able to do any speedy bursts - coming back down was great fun though, the wind through my hair was the sensation I got - it felt great to be running quick and Oscar had to run, at least for the fast bursts & downhills, so I am getting closer to my target!!! My daughter said my face was very red when I got to school, it was quite warm even though the wind was strong so I had overdressed!!!
Aiming to run 3x this week - the last couple of weeks I haven't really felt like it on a monday!! As well as adding in a swim, to stretch me out, some actually stretching and a couple of bike rides with my son!
I have felt an awful lot fitter recently - specifically since I have started to use my heart rate monitor properly and listen to my body more. I am definately seeing improvements and not feeling exhausted all the time. I am also looking more closely at my diet to make sure I eat enough to fuel all the exercise I do - it feels as though it is all starting to click into place!
