tough track

Oct21200912:09 a.m.

track night tonight, although i turned up i wasn't really in it, if you know what i mean.  First few reps were fine but then it got harder and harder, i've been suffering with 'something' for the last 4ish days and although it hasn't totally consumed me its there enough to niggle.  Can't quite put my finger on it but having not got a temperature, aching muscles, cough, cold or chest problems i decided it would still be safe to run.

I survived but it was a toughie, glad i got down there, it did clear the head somewhat and i do find it therapeutic running round in circles (3 is my max), total effort for tomight which was cut short due to sympathy from the coach.  4 x 800m, 1 x 400m (should have been 4!!)

Went down to watch the cardiff half on the weekend, i realised that it was the first ever race where i was a spectator and not a participant, it was very motivating and inspiring to watch.  Due to above mentioned 'something' i didn't get down to the bay to watch and ended up 400m from the finish line, at the last turning point before the home straight, can't have been paying much attention though, half of the club ran past and i didn't even see them, well done to moose10 for a PB, i hear your thoughts on the race and echo them, those problems are the same as previous years, yet because its a flat (very very flat) course it attracts people wanting those PB's

  • nooby2shoes 'hi sarah, are track sessions dead beneficial? i was considering joining a track club. at the moment all my runs are on the raods but i think maybe marked distances ie 800m would help with quickening my pace?' added 21st Oct 2009

  • kraftykat 'It's good to go and watch a race sometimes, rather than running it! Nice to cheer everyone on. Look after yourself, hope it doesn't develop into something worse.' added 21st Oct 2009
