6.23 miles last night in 47:02 (7:33 pace). Very happy as I thought I was only running 6 miles until I mapped it this morning. I did think afterwards that I'd ran too well for the time but I eased right off in the last half mile so I wasn't really too concerned. That's given me lots of confidence for the 10K in a couple of weeks time so I will ease off the distance now.
It was hot and muggy again and I didn't get out until 9.15pm! The wind was light but there was enough to make a difference. Splits (based on pace as opposed to distances) were 7:24, 7:33, 7:19, 8:08 (uphill), 7:05 & 7:46. The uphill mile was the quickest I have done it for a while and the final mile was slower as I eased right off with half a mile left as I was starting to feel it and didn't want to push too hard. For the most part it was a comfortable run and I was especially pleased with the uphill mile and the following mile which is a gradual downhill and good for recovery.
I'll have a slow run down to the 5-a-side tonight and I think I'll try and take it easy before a slow run home.
