Christmas damage

Dec2820118:06 p.m.

Looks like the good start to my Paris training has helped in more ways that one. Despite the booze, the rich food, the chocolates, the home- made best ever stollen and Meg's amazing mince pies, at Slimming World tonight, I registered no weight gain over the festive season.

That said, I'm not being too smug about things as I'm still carrying a 2 lb gain from the previous week, which means that tonight is the final rich meal before healthy eating kicks in again (a family favourite Nigel Slater recipe).  I'm determined not to fall into the old trap of kidding myself that marathon training means I can eat what I like.  That's how I managed to gain 20 lbs over the last 3 years (now lost again bar 2).

Tonight is also a rest night which means time to spend perfecting my Paris training plan. I have 62 training runs totalling 425 miles before Paris. I'm going to have to mix it up a bit to keep things interesting over the next 3 months.  Who needs New Year resolutions when there's a training plan to record in the shiny new diary (scarlet moleskine, present from my girls)...
