Misery...

Apr1320109:52 p.m.

Like the steristrips holding my chin together, I'm feeling a bit frayed around the edges today.

Yesterday, I was feeling resilient and strong.  Today I'm feeling fed up and miserable, a bit sore and a lot sorry for myself.

Solution - chilli, red wine (merlot) and lots of cheese.  Didn't work - I'm still grumpy.

Now I'm feeling fed up, miserable, fat and guilty.  Having been told to keep the wound on my chin clean and dry for six days, exercise is out of the question as I can't be expected to sweat, shower and not get my face wet.  So instead I'm dabbing my face delicately with cotton wool and cleanser and going through extreme acrobatic contortions (with limited success) to keep my chin dry when washing my hair.

And I'm finding the steristrips a bit weird - I'm dreading the stage when I have to peel them off but sort of looking forward to it at the same time. I suppose if I wait long enough they might just drop off.

Rather than inflict my misery on any more people than I have to, I've decided to have an early night with the third book in the Millennium trilogy.

Good night...
