Long run today and thats it...

Just leaving the comfy deckchair for a lunch at the river and then it is off on my little personal half marathon. The weather is gorgeous and I amgetting my head around the thought that we are all running the marathon next week!
How very exciting!!!!
Last year was such a blast and such an amazing day. You forgot the pain, the aches and the trouble, the actual maratho is amazing and I cannot wait for the experience again..
We will all get through somehow, maybe not at our personal bests or what we expected, but on the day it wont matter and we will all be proud. That is my theory at least.
I still want to beat last year's 6 hour mark and I also dont want to feel as sore as I felt last year. Especially considering I am flying on a business trip 1 day later :-) I might not get onto the plane because of the steps :-)
Also fun is that my whole family is coming over from Germany. My mom, my dad (obviously as he is running with me), my twin brother and my little sister. It is such a lovely feeling knowing I have the family backing me and cheering on :-)
Happy Weekend! I am on a sunny high!

Jenny1961 'My sister is coming for the very first time to support me at VLM ! It really does mean a lot to have some family and/or friends there. The weather is lovely indeed. I went out for my 8 miler and it felt good to feel the sun burning my cheeks instead of wind freezing my wotsits off! By the way, the next day isn't too bad regarding aches and pains...its the second day! ' added 17th Apr 2010

Silmarillia 'it went ok, thanks everyone for asking :-) It was gorgeous day but I think I underestimated how much water you need to consume when running in the sunshine. ALSO Fulham was playing at home and I , of course, timed it to jog past the stadium when all fans were streaming out, not an east thing to do when they are all coming in your direction and are drunk.. but i got some cheers :-)' added 18th Apr 2010
