Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional!

My running and blogging slogan, I thought for my second marathon and by far it feels much tougher to train for, I would like to talk about what I talk about when I talk about running..

I am supporting a great charity Sense which since reading Helen Keller's life story at the age of 14 left me deeply touched on how a deafblind person could become a political activist and achieve the first ever BA in Arts as a deafblind, it is most definitely a worthwhile cause to support. Successful running - music? yes or no?

I did a 10k race (against myself)on Sunday which was the first time I didnt feel too flue infected and that took me an hour and 8 minutes, which is a vast improvement from last year and also considering I am infected with injuries and illnesses.

I completed happily a 12 k run today (it is meant to be a smooth and easy run) which took me 1 hour 30 minutes, which is okish.

I am keen to know what everyone listens to whilst running? I vary greatly in taste but today it was a sunny run so I picked some KT Tunstall unplugged and the old old Maroon 5 album Songs about Jane. I tend to switch to classical music when I run over two hours as pop gets too tiring I find. what do you listen to? Or are you a purist with no sounds?>

On my way back I discovered this run photo and thought I should share it. Randomness in London always makes me laugh...

Love the photo! some good runs there. I listen to all sorts of stuff when I'm running. Anything from old stuff from the 60's and 70's (I'm afraid that rather dates me!) to modern stuff. I don't always run with music though - depends on my mood. Sometimes I go out with my ipod, listen for a while and then turn it off. I've been thinking about getting an audiobook for the long runs though.

Did you check in the post box to see if he was hiding in there? Maybe you would have seen two eyes staring back at you - that would have given you a shock!
