What's my name?

Feb0720116:49 p.m.

I haven't blogged for such a long time I forgot my user name and password!

Since putting my back out last October very little has been done! It took about 2 months before I ventured out on a run. Then I had my eyes lazered before Christmas so that stopped any exercise for 4 weeks. It's great not having to mess about with contact lenses any more.

I have started running the Bushy Park runs again. Upto run 82 but it has taken me nearly 3 years! My PB of 21:42 still a long way off. Currently getting round in about 24 minutes. I've also started "core" training to try and strengthen the back. After only two sessions I have noticed a huge improvement. Mind you I still can't quite get into the contortionist positions some of the ladies can get themselves into. It's unnatural.

Long run wise.I'm thinking of Windsor half and may be the London Kilomathon in October.

Anyway off to catch up with the rest of you..

  • Hat 'Ooooh hello Kevin! Gosh, long time and all that - I did think of you in December when the Cliveden 6 was imminent...and then cancelled. Don't think the race is going to happen anymore at that time of year due to the unpredictable, or is it predictable now, weather...So Windsor half eh? I'd forgotten about that half, might see you there. Then again, might not. And yes, Brighton marathon - a bit last minute and total, utter, stupid madness. Hope the core continues to strengthen and your back holds up - hope the family are well - Charlotte must be really grown up by now...' added 7th Feb 2011

  • Firefly123 'Welcome back, Kevin. Its good to hear you're getting back to your training. I must do that Bushy Park run sometime - so much less hilly than the Richmond Park one!' added 7th Feb 2011

  • Jenny1961 'More errant bloggers returning by the day! I have yet to do a Parkrun mainly because there isn't one near enough to do :(. I'm a lady but I too can't get into contortionist positions like many of my fellow ladies! This is what years of cycling does to you. Joints and ligaments like concrete !' added 8th Feb 2011
