Where oh where has General Running gone???

Jun06201110:31 p.m.

I've just spent the best part of an hour typing up a post only for it to disappear when I've hit the 'publish' button...  Seems like a few others appear to be having this problem. too.  I kind of miss my General Running buddies as well and have been busy trawling through dozens of pages trying to find everyone again.

Anyway, amn't going to spend another hour on this tonight.  Brief summary instead -

May running - 103.6 miles (494 for the year)

May cycling - 657miles (3435)

Trip to Edinburgh played havoc with my back.  Dr Doom the osteo initially worked wonders but its now as bad as ever again.  Sacroiliac joints are screaming - hefty doses of painkillers help but thats not sorting it, only masking the problem.  Think another appointment is needed.  And its going to be a painful one...

Skye Half this weekend.  Its going to be a PW.

  • kraftykat 'Thought it had eased off a little Vicki as you'd not mentioned it and you have also been getting some good runs in and some great biking. Really hope you can get it sorted.' added 6th Jun 2011

  • Jenny1961 'Oh I'm really sorry about your back Vicki- knowing how awful it has been. Are you sure you should be doing the Skye half this weekend though? I need specs- I mistakenly read your running stat as 1036 miles in May- and I was gawping in awe and wonder! And then I saw the decimal point. But still gawped in awe and wonder considering your history of back trouble. ' added 7th Jun 2011

  • klebe 'Think we should start a general runners protest group and demand our space back! I had sacroiliac joint problems years ago. The chiropractor made no difference so the doc' referred me to a consultant who gave me a corticosteroid injuction into the joint. Once the ache and pain from the injection wore off after a few days I've never looked back and I've had no real problems since. Might be worth trying. Good luck with Skye' added 7th Jun 2011

  • aphid 'Sorry about the back. I agree with Rob - pilates can be really good for recurring back probs. Also Klebe's sugg of referral to local pain clinic mught help, tho I suspect "local" has slightly different meaning round your way! Hope it is better soon x' added 7th Jun 2011

  • Alaistair 'Sorry to read your back has flared up after Edinburgh, well perhaps that & your recent little bike ride! Hope you are sensible enough to pull out of Saturdays race if your in pain? Ditto your comments on General Running, did wonder how in the future your then exposed to new bloggers if there is no common viewing area? Like you am still struggling to find my way round the new look site :o(' added 7th Jun 2011

  • michael_h 'Like many I've been lost in realbuzz and only just found my way out. Really, really sorry to hear your back's bad again ... I've only just recovered from reading the descriptions of your osteo/physio sessions last time ... really hope you get it sorted and you're not out for too long. Great stats for May!' added 12th Jun 2011
