A Week of Frustration
Oct3020092:53 p.m.
Last week ended with me picking up an injury which I thought was my Achilles tendon. I took 4 days off and started up again on Monday with 4 miles in about 26 minutes with Katie. Katie in the last month has seemed to gone from ok to very good. On the way back the leg was getting worse although during the session it was ok. I decided to try again on Tuesday and completed the usual 9x2mins session on the grass, but somehow just couldn’t get going and by the end the leg felt worse. The pain seemed to move slightly and is now about 1 inch above the ankle and slightly off to the side of the Achilles, so I think the injury is actually a muscle tear from the calf. The injury gets duly iced every night and by today felt generally ok if a little sore. Today I went out and again during the session (1.5 mile reps) it felt ok, but gets worse when I slow down. Another 48 hours off and I hope it will be fine for next week.
As its half term this week not much to report from the home front. Ilness whizzing through the household, which normal when its holiday season. The missus and the kids saw ‘Up’ on Wednesday which they seemed to enjoy. The only other news was son number 1 coming back from his swimming camp at Crystal Palace, where he trained twice a day fro three days.
Keep up the running.
