Chasing Waterfalls
May1220107:35 p.m.
April 6th (Out of sequence) down from Tikhedunga
We found ourselves walking the very dusty new road bed until we got to the place where we needed to climb down the spoil heap to where the river had a waterfall in it. Some of the more hardy souls went for a dip -the rest of us just removed our boots and cooled our feet in the ice cold Himalayan melt water. We were joined by a very young Nepali girl who could catch the little fish in the river with her bare hands -Jo had tried to do the same but to no avail! On resuming our journey we met an 80 year old guy trekking up to Annapurna Base Camp - he had been visiting Nepal since 1962 - when he said the only bit of road and the only car where both owned by the King of Nepal! I reflected that this was a far cry from the present traffic chaos of Kathmandu!
