Choons!!

Nov1220091:30 p.m.

I finally managed to drag my lazy bum to the gym this morning - being on lates again this week I found it really hard work just getting there, but as usual feel that much better for it now! lol

As I was tired from lates I decided that today would be just about taking it easy and do 1min intervals and focus on trying to increase the time I do them for, rather than pushing myself to do longer intervals and end up not training for so long. So there I was plodding away on the treadmill, having managing to find a spare one between some of the older gym folk. I found that trying to read the subtitles on BBC Breakfast while jogging is a bit tricky and not quite enough of a distraction so I fell back on my trusty Ipod and it got me thinking......does everybody have a selection of songs that get them through those difficult patches in training where your legs start to feel heavy, your pace wants to slow etc?

I deffinatly do, my top song is one that never ever fails and can often get 2mins or so out of me is Sound Of The Underground - Girls Aloud. Naff - yes, Cheesy - deff, But does it work? Every single time!!! lol

Now songs like this are important to my training - they seem to speed up time and make that interval I'm currently jogging pass much quicker (maybe it's something to with the fact that I want to sing along - at the very least mouth along with the words, and I do frequently)! As these songs help me at each and every training session I will share them you all

Fire Burning - Sean Kingston. Hey Ya - Outkast. Holiday - Dizzy Rascal. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas. My Life would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson. Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon. U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Wham!. Womanizer - Britney Spears. Sound Of The Underground - Girls Aloud.

For cool down and stretches my all time fave song at the moment is Popinholla by Chicane. It so nice and chilled it's fab to wind down and really enjoy the stretches to!!

If anyone else out there has any songs that they want to share by all means - i'm always looking for something to make those difficult session that bit easier!!

And I suppose the album I listen to most is Abba (one of the many greatest hits compilations). First track is Dancing Queen, nice and upbeat, gets me in the mood. Also Pet Shop Boys (they're my favourite group in general) "Yes" and Beethoven's ninth (I find this last one particularly good on long runs)' added 12th Nov 2009
