Might have over done it
Monday was a rest day
Tuesday was another rest day because my legs felt tired and I didn't ahve much energy
Wednesday I had a PT session booked. She mainly worked my legs and core with a little bit of arm stuff. Really hard work but I enjoyed it. Then I went for a swim afterwards, which didn't feel too abd as I was using different muscles.
Thursday I woke up aching and stiff from the PT session, and then it all went wrong. When I got out of the car at running club something sort of felt wrong in my calf. I put it down to the PT session and the cold weather and did a few more stretches then normal before the run. During the first mile it didn't feel right, but it wasn't hurting to I decided to keep going. I took it easy and did my slowest run of the year but even that was too much. I woke up on Friday morning with pain in my calf before I even got out of bed.
I think I might have a slight calf tear. Nothing too bad as I can still walk pain free and managed to go bowling last night without any discomfort at all. But I have an area of calf that feels bruised if I poke it gently. So no running for me for a few days. I'll miss a long run, but so be it. Best to rest now than to compromise my ability to run races.
I have a sports massage booked for Monday so I will ask her to take a look at it. I plan to swim over the next few days, and maybe spinning if it doesn't hurt but no running at all.
