Bloody French weather!!

Jun25200810:06 p.m.

It's off again!

I've decided the British weather can't be that bad so as it's in the channel, from now on I will blame the French!

I was just getting ready for the drive down to Dover when it was called off! I'm kind of half expecting it now. I've been told Friday may be good but others are now saying Saturday will be better.

The problem I have is that I'm supposed to be back at work on Saturday! I work as a Paramedic and getting leave at short notice is almost impossible - especially at a weekend! I spoke to one of my managers today but she says I need to go higher tomorrow. Suddenly, nature is not my biggest obstacle - it's work commitments!

I really hope something can be sorted. Even if I do it Friday, I can't imagine getting up for a 06:30 start on Saturday morning. If it comes to it I thought about going off sick with stress and saying I went for a long swim to help relax! Do you think it would work?:-)

Thanks to all who are supporting me in whatever way you choose. Sorry It's taking so long but we will get there!

  • Swim 'Thanks to you all for your support. I have had my pic in two local papers but it hasn't seemed to help at all. I asked for companies to help fund the event and also sent out about 50 letters to companies and only one has offered any help (£20)! I feel totally let down by the businesses in my town. After all, it is for a very good cause but they are just interested in making profits for themselves! I've had to take a bank loan out to fund this charity event so ensure all personal sponsors go straight to the charity. Sorry to rant but I do feel very let down by my lack of local support!' added 26th Jun 2008

  • mumrunfun 'Well I feel I have missed out on all your adrenaline highs and lows. The last time I stopped by here you were argiung with your training buddy who had to spend more time in the water than you..now you can't even get in the water..oh my, you're gonna need therapy after this is all over! I just hope the party after justifies all the hassle before! Fingers/toes/eyes/legs etc etc crossed for you.' added 26th Jun 2008
