Two weeks to go (again!)

Ok so I now have two more dates for my swim. Hopefully I will be doing it on 14th or 15th July. I just need to keep the training up and hope for good weather!

My big disapointment is that Paul (Hoffy) will probably not be able to be my support swimmer now as he is swimming in the FINA Open Water Grand Prix in Serbia and doesn't get back until late on the 14th (see:  www.hoffyswims.com/ ) Also once again it will be difficult to sort out my support crew as most of them work shifts like myself and getting time off is very hard.

Training is also difficult now I'm back to work properly. I can't get down to Dover next weekend but will go down during the week and get back in that cold sea! It simply has to be done if I want any chance of success!

I want to thank Freda for her constant help, advice and support. She really is one very special person that so many owe so much to. Thanks Freda - you're a star!

Also thanks to all who are showing their support on this site, and thanks to the constant support and understanding of my family throughout the year:-)

  • terry 'So glad to hear you are back on plan- this time all will go well I am sure. I heard King Neptune goes on holiday that week so will not be around to stir up great waves as before!!! Have a good trial swim this weekend...........do you still have to cover yourself in goose grease or was that years ago!!! Terry' added 2nd Jul 2008

  • Swim 'So where does King Neptune go on holiday? Anyway, it's good news he's away as I may get calmer sea! And as for goose grease! I don't know of anyone who uses it - apart from a few of my goose friends! It's usually just vaseline on the parts that rub/chafe. They realised it doesn't really help with the cold. You just have to get used to it! Mark' added 3rd Jul 2008
