Injured again.....

Ok so now I’m really worried! Last week my knees were really sore so I eased off the training a bit. Had 3 days off over the weekend and ran yesterday and I was in loads of pain. My knees just ache all the time now – they don’t really bother me when I’m running but afterwards they’re quite sore. But yesterday it was my shins again……its just like a painful pressure that builds up in my shins and seems to disappear when I stop – so I struggled to do the 4 miles home yesterday. I’m also getting that painful sciatica type pain in my bum again, so I’m wondering if that is what is causing the shin pain again because they had been fine.
The marathon is only 8 weeks on Sunday and my longest run for the last 3 weeks has been 8 miles…… My fiancé Jordan is also having trouble with his knees and isn’t able to run for more than 2 miles before he’s in a lot of pain. So we’ve both been feeling quite miserable about it for the last week!
Anyway, I’ve decided I need to try and do something so I’m going to spend some decent time every day stretching and I’m also going to start going for bike rides on days that I don’t think I can run – and hopefully there’s a chance I’ll be able to hobble round on the day. The Parkinsons Disease Society runners have a google discussion group, and someone on there said that if you can run a half marathon 6 weeks before the marathon, you should be alright on the day – so I’m thinking there’s still hope at the moment!
