Hello again!
Just wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year, and ask if anyone has decided on any resolutions yet? I haven't really settled upon any firm ones yet, other than to get back into training properly and try to get a little bit quicker!! Really not sure whether to set myself a time goal for the Prague half - can't decide whether it will motivate me or just set me up for failure!!! At the moment, I think I'm just wanting to get round and enjoy it!
I'm feeling a little less guilty about overindulging as I've been a bit more active this week! A few of us went on a lovely, snowy hill walk on Monday, and I did a couple of hours in the gym on tuesday, wednesday and thursday.
Tuesday - 5 miles on the treadmill, middle three miles in 20.30 then a weights session which nearly killed me!
Wednesday - still aching badly from tuesday, did a 8 x 400 metres in 85 secs each with 2 mins steady run recovery, motivated by some sexist idiots in the gym. (Thanks guys!) Then more weights...ouch!
Thursday - legs really hurting, so went for non-impact - an hour's "hill climb" on the stepper (had to have my iPod and a magazine for that one), then 6 x 30 seconds flat out, 30 seconds rest on the rower (hell on earth, hate rowers), cool down on the bike and then more weights.
Going to have an easy day today and a day off tomorrow, then Julie our spinning instructor has organised a hill run followed by mince pies and mulled wine for monday! Should be fun!

Jenny1961 'Happy New Year Mandy! The beauty of being active is that you can eat virtually what you like, when you like! Well, I do anyway and have no qualms about working my way through a mega bar of dairy milk chocolate :). I'm still working on a list of things I would like to do/achieve in my 50th year so I guess these are some form of resolution! However, one thing I will be starting work on immediately is creating a spreadsheet to record my mileage and times throughout the year. Currently I only 'record' it on blogs so it's a faff trying to remember my times and accummulated mileage :)' added 1st Jan 2011
