8846 is the magic number....

Mar1120089:44 a.m.

....well, my number for the marathon at any rate! ARGH! All getting a bit real!

Back from Miami, which was, as the yanks say, "AWESOME"! Seriously good fun. Gorgeous hotel, fab food and only one night on the (highly tasty) sauce (followed by a rather unjust hangover the next day!)

I was a very good girl and did an hour and a half at the gym every morning (it's great, they had E! on the treadmills - could have run for hours. Maybe I can have someone run the marathon in front of me with a TV......) I kinda had to be so dedicated as the food was amazing - and the portion sizes humongous. I could really live in Miami!

The Ocean Drive 5k was lots of fun - although woke up the morning of it to torrential rain. My poor mum. She was so looking forward to supporting me at a race that didn't involve an umbrella and several layers of clothing! Still it stopped raining for the race and (thankfully) stayed overcast. It was still very warm - I'm not sure how I would have faired had the sun been out. Managed 26mins which was OK. I was wanting under 25mins, especially as the course was relatively quick.

http://www.splitsecondtiming.com/results/2008/oceanrun.html still, I came 11th in my age group and 321 (out of 1027) overall.

Great results site - yet more unflattering running pictures to follow!

I got my next set of marathon instructions last night, hence now knowing my number.

Must get some more long runs in........
