Expo, expo!
Apr1120082:48 p.m.
I'm official! I am signed in, numbered up and chipped! (Blue start, pen 8, no 9946 is you want to wave!)
Visited the marathon expo this morning which was really good fun. My ever trusty sooooper-supporter (AKA Mum) was on hand to make sure I didn't get too over excited! Which I very nearly did when I saw all the guide dogs and guide dog puppies at the (funnily enough) guide dog charity stand, I nearly switched charities! Made do with a cuddly guide dog toy instead (Although the I thought that made the "sign up and get a free guide dog" sign a touch misleading)
Also stocked up on Lucazade Sport for before and HydroActive for afterwards, signed up to a new running fitness magazine and purchased some souvenirs. I also now had a lovely FML 08 hoodie and long sleeve running top - oh, and a cuddly toy (fanks Ma!), I'll never grow up! Had my picture taken at the Macmillan stand (which reminded me of the need to fake tan - Miami has well and truly washed off!) and mum picked up several cheering boards!
I have a sense of the calm before the storm. My emotions are still all over the shop. Found myself nearly weeping at the BBC's ad for the marathon coverage and got all knotted up when they were talking about marathon weather this morning (which is good for runners, maybe damp for spectators!)
Typically I am getting no sleep. Was awake from about 3-6 last night. Not fixating on anything in particular but just unable to sleep. Trying to keep myself very busy tomorrow - breakfast viewing of the China Design Now exhibition, hair cut and major sky+ catch up! - in order to hopefully get some sleep on Saturday!
Other than that I am just raring to go. I want to get out there and do it (and then do it better next year!)
I'm also very much looking forward to my massage on Monday...can't believe that the next time I'm in the office I'll have done it!

gravygraham 'I know what you mean about the TV trailer - made me go too. Hope you don't mind me asking but is your monica really Vallinnapod or should it have been Vanillapod? It's just a thought.' added 11th Apr 2008

Jennys_Mum 'I am not sure Jenny would thank me for replying to comments on her blog! However I cannot resist coming on here to say the monica really is Vallinnapod and results from her complete inability from the age of "just starting to talk" to - err - now to pronounce the word "vanilla" correctly. Such abusive parents were we, we used to say at restaurants "Go on Jenny what flavour ice cream would you like?" eliminating all till she had no alternative but to launch herself at the word "vanilla". No wonder she has taken to long distance running to escape us!' added 14th Apr 2008
