It was a nice bank holiday weekend in London, with the weather on top form. Was so nice to enjoy it, especially since I was supposed to go for a weekend trip to Krakow, which didn’t happen due to my flatmate’s visa not coming through.

On Saturday I went for my first post-marathon massage. And it was one of the most painful ever. I just didn’t realise how much damage the marathon had done to my body. Every inch of my body hurt the moment the practitioner touched it. So much pain!!! Afterwards, I went to the swimming pool, after not going for a good few months. That was good and helped a little bit with the pain.

Sunday was football day. I live right next to the Arsenal stadium and my flatmate and I have been planning to see a game since forever. So we couldn’t miss the final game! And a great game it was, 4-1 against Stoke City. Mind you, I spent half of the game looking at my Blackberry hoping and praying that my Newcastle United would somehow manage to stay in the Premiership. Unfortunately it didn’t happen and I was just gutted. But we’ll come back better and stronger in 2010!

Monday was tennis day. My flatmate’s brother is visiting us for a few days, so the three of us went. In the end we all had equal wins and losses :) But with the weather being perfect, it was hugely enjoyable.

So no running this weekend. I’ll try to do some exercises to try to strengthen the muscles that are weak and then try to go for a run on Saturday. Will need to do it, mu next race is in just over a month!

    Hope everyone’s had a bit more productive weekend running-wise. Certainly no weather-related excuses… :)
