Smashed through my 15 mile target time - could it be the carbs?

Feb1920109:40 a.m.

Set a new personal distance record today with a 15.6 mile run... was aiming for 2 hours 15 but made it in 2 hours 5, and managed an extra 0.6 miles to get to work; I'm hoping for 9 minute miles on race day so was really pleased to manage 8 minutes 20 over the course. I also managed to match my previous half marathon race time which was great as it was just a training run.

It started with snow, then dried up and it was really exciting to join the official course route in Deptford for 3 miles, having done 9 miles which is about the same distance I'll have done at that point when it's the real thing. I was surprised how steep the approach to Tower Bridge is!

I don't think the carbs helped... I was at focus groups all day on Wednesday and ate about 20 mini-Mars during the day (thanks Carolyn); then had 2 peoples' worth of chinese for tea last night... I may have taken the advice to experiment with my diet to find the right balance a little too literally!
