King of the squats

Morning.
A quick update is due I think.
GNR HM training well under way now, and going to plan. After all my time on reduced milage, I'm just going for a 'get you round' plan. I figure that If I can run the half in September and my knee survives, then it will be a sign of some progress.
Some way to go before then though. Am back up to 6 miles, but that prompted a return of the hurty knee. Amy offered 'The Stare' which normally sorts most things out one way or another, but my knee is resistant. I probably need to try Vogon Poetry next (the third worst poetry in the Universe - resistance is useless).
My hip and glute exercises are progressing well. Keep feeling my left buttock to see if there is a difference - none noticable yet, but I think I'm drawing attention to myself at work by squeezing it too often.
Got the 'strength and conditioning' class next Saturday to see whether I am doing these exercises correctly - hope that will be a good use of 90 mins.
Skipped my long run yesterday (busy, and it rained a lot) so will do it today at lunch, then will be back on track I hope.
Finally, I am on the Harriers Race Committee for the Congleton Half in October - so any early registrations welcome, and any tips on organisation will be forwarded. The rest of the guys/girls are pretty used to organising races, but have not previously organised the HM - this was done by the Lions, but they have finally thown in the towel, so we are picking up the towel and wringing it out.
Am looking forward - it's a great undulating race - the link is here for any interested parties.

Best wishes to all...

tinabee 'Like your Hitchhiker's Guide reference - made me chuckle. Hearing about the return of the hurty knee made me scowl however! Not good. Hope it is just putting up a token complaint and then shutting up and getting on with it! Hear you have offered to share a tent with JB! That should be fun! Cant wait for that blog!' added 18th Jul 2011
