New Knees
Jun1720118:37 a.m.
Hi all. Not sure who's out there as I've not blogged for some time. I have tended to use Twitter as I can access it easily on the move from my Blackberry. I was hoping that this new format of RealBuzz may be more mobile-friendly but it doesn't seem so.
I think it is much better now we are not compartmentalised into 'events' - I think that narrowed the range of readers and limited comments - so I'm pleased with that change.
I am in training for the GNR in September, and still having niggly problems with my right knee. Am going for a fairly big (and expensive) assessment soon (but am luck to have some private medical cover that will pay). The chap is a podiatrist and biomechanist, and runner so I am hopeful that he will get to the bottom of my issues. I am slightly sceptical (by nature) as I have had a lot of vaguely helpful advice that has not really got to the bottom of the problem (maybe it's me?). I expect there will be a recommendation of orthotics - that seems to be normal practice (sceptical again).
So, I will report back with news. Once I've been there I will look for new shoes in line with any discussions, and hope that my HM training can ramp up.
Until then, I will be involved in the orgainisation of the Congleton Half in October - mainly to do with arranging sponsorship etc. So, if you know any companies that would like to support us !
Best wishes...
Andy
