I am starting to get really excited about the 18th, less than 2 weeks now!

I've sort of got a plan for the next 2 weeks, just to make sure that I have used the time to the best I can.

Yesterday I did a really comfortable 40+5 on the treadmil with only 2x2min walk breaks.  I am still no where near running the whole thing, and now see that for my first one that was perhaps a bit of a tall order to start with!  I am more than confident that I can cover the distance with run/walk, but mostly run [well jog really ]!

I now know for sure that it's the cycle home that is making my shins ache, so I'm happy that if I don't cycle thur/fri/sat before the race I will be fine.  My last training day will be the Thursday before the race, then I will just rest for a couple of days, maybe to a walk or something.

Not got my number yet, but I'm hoping that its waiting for me at home!

hope everyone's feeling excited about it...

  • Jonners 'Don't worry about running the distance before the 18th. I didn't last year, which made the day extra special when I did do it. I am looking forward to this year just as I did last year. If don't hear anything by the end of the week suggest you ring/e-mail Great run. But I'm sure it will come this week. Just be patient for a little while longer!!!' added 7th May 2008
