thanks all..

hi, thanks for all the messages of support.

i dont think I run fast enough to slow it down too much, BUT I think when out with the club I do run faster, I try and keep with the crowd, and ail miserably!

Anyway, I just went out and did a Heaton Park 5k [the race for life route].  Did it in 37:32, which I am ok with, its a minute slower than my last Alex Park 5k, but alex park is MUCH flatter.

I got my free watch for sunscribing to Runners Wolrd today, so enjyed using that to time the whole run and the walks.

Still got the ache on the shins, especially up hills, but I pushed passed where I would usually stop, I don't think i got that much further but I fet good about doing that.

Things I did right:
  • ate taost and peanut butter 2 hours before run
  • pushed passed first place i wanted to stop
  • timed the walks to keep them under 2 mins, 1 min where poss
  • slept well the night before

Things I did wrong:
  • hydration!!  that is the second time it's gone in the did wrong pile, I will vow not to have it here again, a cup of coffee is NOT hydrating fluid angela....
  • could have had an earlier night
  • could have eaten bananna for breakast/had better tea last night
It's the Alex park run next sunday, so want to be good for that.  This week's aim, that can be broken!
  • Mon: 5k around Heaton Park
  • Tue: rest i think
  • Wed: 40 mins treadmil?
  • Thur: MFR Thursday?
  • Fri: 40 mins treadmil if i don't run Thur
  • Sat: rest
  • Sun: Alex Park 5k
Good luck with the training everyone.
