This is our lives on holiday.......

Again took my running gear for a lovely holiday - but this time actually managed to get it out of my luggage, if only once. Had a good but rather sweaty treadmill session in the gym at the Grand Hyatt in Cairo.
Otherwise had excellent holiday - a few days in Luxor doing the hisory and culture bit , then a few days at red sea doing the obvious , then cairo for 2 days ( pyramids and stuff) then home. Best thing about Red Sea was swimmimg with a huge 6ft sea turtle which came in to feed off the beach each morning. It is a well kept secret as the locals , to their credit, dont want it bothered by the tourists. We came across it by accident. The kids were blown away.
As this is a running blog and not a what I did on my holidays blog back to the subject in hand. Did 4.5 miles today - gorgeous crisp morning and reasonable pace. I think the winter will be focussed on shorter pacier possibly hilly runs with some effort on core fitness. So much easier to write than do ....time will tell.
Oh...and I am still pinching myself that I went to see Green Day. I may be a sensible professional middle aged mother of two but I just LOVE that band. A poor mans Clash maybe, but we had the best night...

Skye_Trekker 'Your holiday sounded nice... Even better that the kids enjoyed it ;0) btw, had to laugh at your comment. Yes its 88 miles run in Oct and 945 for the year - don't think even Alaistair could run that amount in 31 days.' added 4th Nov 2009
