22...time to scale back
Mar2720102:31 p.m.
Since october my plan was that on Saturday 27th March I would be able to run the 22 miles from my house to Belfast International Airport, I am thrilled to say that this morning, just after poor Lewis decided to take it easy in Q2, I ran it! I think its probably best for me now to scale down my distances, I had been unsure of when to cut down, but the pressure I felt I was putting my body under this morning has made me think now might be a good time and not to bother trying such a distance again until race day. 3 hours 15 was my time, again i was very happy with that, if I finish inside 4 then it would be great.
However, I could not believe the response I got at a service station when I was buying water, I was planning on phoning my wife when I was there so she could come pick me up, so I asked if there was a payphone, the ladies response was that there was none on this road but I I ran back to the belfast road, about 8 miles away, I would probably get one along there, no chance I could use the phone behind counter? NO. So I went to the cafe next door and asked could I use theirs, no, its not for the publc, could I pay u the two pound coin I have? ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, no! Thank you to the lady who gave me her mobile, it was really appreciated.
