Nights getting lighter!!!

Feb0720127:42 p.m.

I think winter is very slowly getting left behind.......well tonight it is anyway...  Managed to get my threshold training done tonight in daylight after work.

Tonights training was 4 x 8 mins threshold running with 60 sec recovery..... away around Strathclyde Park tonight.  The aim tonight was to try to maintain an even pace for all 4 sections rather than what I have done previous weeks and hammered it in the first one and left myself with jelly legs by the last one!!

Set of with longer strides and less sprint like moves, definitely made a difference and maintained a 8 min pace for first and second one.  On the third, hit a tough hill which slowed me down giving an overall pace of 8.30 but for the last one managed to get back to the 8 min pace & for the last 2 mins, sprinted like a total mad person and finished with a 7.20 pace.....

Felt really fantastic during each run, don't get me wrong parts of it are tough usually with 2 - 3 mins to go.  When I have finished the 8 mins, tonight I noticed that my recovery is mega quick..........felt so good, it was as if I hadn't just completed the threshold run...  Is this how Paula Radcliffe feels????  If only I had the time in my day to train like she does, only in my dreams!!!

Well away for a stretch, & roll with my foam roller..... quickly followed by a lovely chinese..... not been that healthy today, but hey I can't be an angel everyday xx

  • Ruth22 'oh, the infamous foam roller! I love mine too, I think you can't be a proper runner without one... Good effort on your session, glad to hear your recovery is improving, it's always encouraging when you can see results.' added 7th Feb 2012
