Having run my first marathon in April 2007 I am desperate to do it again. This is partly because I didn't get the experience I hoped for, because of my injuries I took forever to complete it - 7 hours 39 mins and 37 seconds. Throughout training I had problems with my ITB which luckily since then has almost gone, but been replaced by other injuries namely heel problems which have meant that I have not run since October 2008. Had orthotics made in Feb 2009 which are helping and I am determined to get back into it. I wont be fit enough for 2010 but hopefully 2011 will be my year. I have bowed to pressure and decided not to move my blog so I am still here. I have got a ballot place in the Great North Run for September 2010 which I can't wait for.
I have set myself some targets which will help me keep motivated and will mean that in 2010 I will achieve my goal of completing the marathon in under 6 hours:
run 5 k in under 30mins
manage my diabetes better (had insulin dependant diabetes since I was 13, now 38 years old)
loose weight
keep finding races to enter
improve my core stability

Great North Run - 2010 (would love to beat previous half marathon time of 3hr 6 mins- very flat Blackpool course and complete it in uner 2hr 45mins)
I managed to get to the gym on Thursday and also went first thing this morning. I had no aches and pains it was just very hard work as my blood sugar was too high. Went round to my mums and stripped wallpaper. Absolutely knackered now. Off to watch Sarah Jane Adventures with the kids. At least it will stop them singing fame (went to cinema yesterday to see fame - don't tell anyone but I really enjoyed it!)
Fame is on at the cinema ?
What next ?
The big screen adventures of Taxi or Kojack ?
