lots and lots of walking

Oct15200911:50 p.m.

This morning i went out walking with Mary in the rain, i walked 5.3 miles before 10am so was quite happy with myself, i still didnt get running shoes because i live in the arse end of nowhere and dont drive, but i should have them by the weekend. Because of the running shoe situation i have taken to walking a lot. My little girl loves it and the fresh air makes her sleep, so its great all round. I do hate the fast traffic, why do people need to drive so fast on tiny roads? and i got wet by the puddles when mean drivers drove through them so we got splashed, oh well we enjoyed it.

So far ive been trying to just improve my fitness and activity level and all seems to be going well, im still dauntered by just how far a marathon is but as long as i get round i will be happy.

Im moving house in two weeks time and ive seen lots of runners around the new area so i may make some running buddies which will be nice, also it will give me some new places and routes to run/walk to, around here its already feeling a bit limited so im very excited.

i hope everyone has a great weekend and i hope to cover at least 15 miles in walking so ill let you know how it goes.

  • Keith_L 'Great to work on basic fitness first and walking is a nice introduction. Forget the distance that a marathon it...you couldnt run 26 miles today...so what? you dont need to. When April comes and you have followed a plan you will be able to...take it one small step at a time' added 16th Oct 2009
