The Last Post

Aug1320085:59 p.m.

If I had a trumpet, well, If I had a trumpet that I could play….. I would be playing it now, the last post that is, providing I could play the trumpet and type at the same time obviously!

This feels a little sad, for I expect this will be my last post; at least for now.  We fly out in eight days and, typically, I've left everything to the last week.  Its all rather wonderfully manic…..

I have a 'to-do' list that is probably long enough to travel further round the world than we will be doing.  One of my sadder tasks was to un-subscribe from all your blogs….. I feel gloomy at missing all your news: but I'm not sure how often I'll be able to get online so need to keep my in-box free-ish for friends and family, although naturally I'll be logging on and keeping tabs on you lot whenever / wherever possible.   I have however joined the 'Realbuzzers do Facebook' group….so might see you there?

Do you know, I started this blog almost a year ago in an attempt to motivate myself to get fit.  It didn't work.  But I've really enjoyed it and it had never occurred to me, beforehand, just how much I would enjoy writing waffle.  It also never occurred to me that anyone would actually take the time to read my waffle let alone make the effort to leave comments; it shocks the hell out of me, but according to my little counter thingy, as I type 61,242 people have logged onto my blog).  Thank you.

But my biggest blogging revelation was the sense of community, the support offered during my Tit-astrophe was warmly welcomed.  I have loved following your ups and downs, hearing about your successes.  Some of your posts have been very moving, some inspiring but usually they are just blooming funny; Shazz, Jach 22 & Mumrunfun should have their own column somewhere.  Whereas who agrees that Miserable Bleeder is the male Helen Fielding (author of The Bridget Jones Diaries)?  KimCotton and Skye Trekker just fill me with fitness awe and we all know that Awomeninsane will be coming joint first in the GNR along with Tonystoon.  Plus I have a strong suspicion that Chris J will be signing up for the FLM in the next year or two after her sparkling RFL success.

Who else has wondered how smellslikeangels came up with that name?

So whilst I ponder this I can't put off the inevitable.  Overwhelmed by my to-do list the only course of action is to ignore it and go out for a pizza and big glass of plonk with a friend….. so now its time to log off.

Thanks again for everything over the last year.

Wishing you all the best of everything for your own personal adventures.

Lisa xx

  • Skye_Trekker 'Have a really, really, really brilliant trip (and I don't just mean on the Peruvian tea) - but I must point out that going to South America is SUCH a drastic measure to get out of completing the BBR. Wuss... Enjoy every minute and every step of your adventure - look forward to reading the book :0) Take care...' added 13th Aug 2008

  • Roleyboy 'The best thing about running is that it is the most portable exercise there is. All you need is your shoes and a rough map of where you are staying. If going with your ex - get him out and about for a run (for safety) - have a great trip.' added 31st Aug 2008
