Walking back from dropping the little uns off at school & really didn't want to go to the gym today so I went for a run on the roads instead. Havent run outside for a good 4/5 months as suddenly became really self-conscious and just lacked motivation. Really good to get back out there although I did stick to the areas where I knew they wouldnt be many people! I did find it harder than on the treadmill but I expected that and I did have a couple of walking breaks, not long, but this annoyed me as I think it is more mind over matter than actually needing to! Was hoping to do 3 miles and I did 3.96 so was really pleased, and my pace was the same as it used to be which is good too. It was great being outside in the sunshine, my lungs definately felt the difference which I strangely enjoyed and it all came back just how much I DO enjoy running outside. My plan now is to do at least one run per week outside and the rest at the gym. I just need to sort out some new routes as the many routes I have used previously dont really appeal to me! So all in all, a good day!
