Just short of the goal

My program had me scheduled for a 5 mile run on Sunday. I had been looking forward to this run because it would be the first 5 mile run of my training program. I felt a little rushed trying to squeeze it in before church and my kids kept wanting to talk to me while I ran or show me one of thier new lego creations, so I was a bit distracted. I eventually found my rhythm though, and felt fine through the first 4 miles. During my last 600 M however my left knee started to hurt. I tried to run through it thinking I was just getting stiff but it got worse. I ended my run with just 200 M to go to reach the 5 mile mark. I was bummed, but I knew that it wasn't worth it to push myself to the 5 mile mark just to say that I did it and end up doing some serious damage to my knee.
My knee doesn't hurt right now and didn't hurt once I came off the treadmill. I'm not sure what was going on and I'm hoping that some good stretching today (Monday) will help me to work out whatever muscle stiffness may have caused it. I've got a short run scheduled for Tuesday so we will see how it feels then. I hope this is not serious!
