Getting up those hills.

Been struggling with running up hills up until last couple of weeks, which being from Sheffield is quite odd as it's hardly flat, built between 7 hills just like Rome, now I really love downhills cos being just under 20 stone plus gravity = an almighty force to downwards and as long as I warn others I'm coming like a runaway road train injuries and pileups are avoided, but the converse is obviously true on uphills, the forces trying to stop me going uphill are also rather large. But I have found in recent weeks an urge to run rather quickly up the hills and suffer the consequnces at the top. Not really a deliberate thing. There is just a vice in my head which takes control of my legs and I tend to start sprinting up the hills until I either a) reach the top or b) lungs and heart explode out of my chest and I can go no further. WHY? I know it's going to hurt but I seem to get a bit of a kick from it. Is this the Masochistic side of running? or there some ancient urge to flee to higher ground from predators/enemies/floods. It has got me flummoxed (That;s a good word)
Last thursday saw a 7.2 miler (longest run for some time)
Sunday saw a slow 5.5miler but with dog in tow, (stopping for stiles, on and off lead, pick poop, etc)
Keep on running
