Training Begins
Dec0220082:11 a.m.
Last week after supporting my wife and friends as they ran the Philly marathon and half marathon, I began training for my next race. I Cleveland several years ago and bonked badly at the 18 mile mark. Despite very difficult conditions including rain and wind, I finished but was not very satisfied with my performance. Beginning is difficult. I haven't been this out-of-shape in many years. I'm starting by splitting my runs doing three miles in the morning and two in the evening to build up my aerobic base for later training. I am also planning on making it the Y for strength work and cross training two days per week.
