Hi Everyone!!! Welcome to my world. I am a 55 year old new grandmother of a beautfiul baby boy (Kieran, born 4th October). My outlook on life is you are never too old to dream of achieving what may seem impossible.

I started running at the age of 47 , having not done any type of exercise since school. That was back in 2000. I entered my 1st 10km run shortly after and to my surprise finished 2nd in my age group with a time of 54 minutes. I persuaded my running partner to train for a half-marathon we completed the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon in 2004 in a time of 1.54.58. After that run my partner moved from the Toronto area to Calgary so I started running on my own. I decided with the wonderful support of my husband to train for a marathon. I entered to Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon in 2006 - and qualified for Boston in my 1st ever marathon. I ran Boston 2008 (4.13.13)

In the meantime, I had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma which at the moment is ``indolent`` and I truly believe that running is why I stay healthy. So Ottawa is my 3rd marathon.
