Biking - just a little bit!

As I said in my last post my fingers had entered me into the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride and I can happily report that I survived with no significant injuries - excepting a little bruising due to excessive saddle time, no photos!
It was great weather for the first 50 miles and I surprised myself by finding a good strong pace early on and keeping up about a 16 mile an hour average until hitting the coast after Warton. Suddenly we found the wind my friends warned me about, the mantra "Up hill in this wind is BAD" got me through at a steady 12 miles an hour and finally crossed the line with the bad pun " I prefer Swedish but today Finish is not bad either..... " Sorry ;)
4 hours 11 minutes for my first long distance bike ride (62 miles) and joined a new class the next day - Beach bodies, which turned out to be army beastings on Crosby beach, I'm still turfing out the sand from the trainers and I can remember having to carry one of my class mates and do squats at the same time.
Relatively easy week follows, 20 miles on the bike and a personal trainer session leading to today when I get out for a 6 mile run in 51 mins - tomorrow back with the personal trainer for 5 miles of either interval sprints or hill training.
On the bright side I'm not my friend, who's wife has just pre-registered him for his first marathon last night!!
Hope you're all well.
