still running, still loving it........... well most of the time !

well its been a while I know but hey.
I ran the sturminster newton half marathon last weekend, I was soooooo slow but at least I finished which was more than I expected to so am at least pleased with that.
I do have the excuse that most runers seem to come up with, did you see what I did just then I classed myself as a runner what just happened. My training was bad as I ve had the most horrid pains in my legs. Right inner shin and left thigh and groin. Probably due to not enough rest time post London marathon and a change in shoes. Seems the wrong shoes can cause crazyness in the leg department.
So after resting and another visit to the shop, another shoe fitting and another new pair of new trainers I think Im getting there, still sore but improving. I seem to hobble for the first few meters then things gradually settle. The hobble was hardly noticable today, my first run post half marathon.
I even managed a personal best today, 3 miles 30 min.
heres the plan to get my slowish arse a little quicker. Ive down loaded the RW sub 4 marathon and plan to start now, doing each week over until im up to speed, well its a plan at least. Will let you knw how it goes.
That and my shiney new bike and there will be no stopping me, still dont get why the weight wont go down any quicker but hey ho
