Ok,so I have a Golden Bond place for the Virgin London Marathon 2010!! Yipee!!

Im raising money for LOOK which helps kids with visual impairments and will be donning a fancy dress of sorts to help me along the way. I was unlucky in the 2000 ballot and have always wanted to do a Marathon.....and its taken 10 years!

Im looking forward to the training although it's been a while since the running. Was always fit until children came along so the challenge should be fun!!

Hopefully this blog will keep me motivated!

First fundraiser out the way!

Yesterday I spent a glorious 5 hours standing in IKEA,in Edinburgh, with my bucket !

It was quite lonesome doing it by myself but had plenty entertainment in the form of IKEAs customers doing their festive shopping especially a poor woman who walked the length of the checkouts trailing toilet paper from under her skirt....oh dearEmbarassed

I had a nice cosy spot beside the food shop. I met a couple of marathon runners too  and lots of people wished me good luck which was nice.

I had  a bag of ballons for the kids which ran out after half an hour but it was nice to see kids running around with LOOK's yellow balloons. If only I'd had more!!

5 hours was a long time standing but worth it as I managed to raise £81. I was meant to be collecting the previous day but they had to withdraw for another charity.

I'm still selling stuff on Ebay too which has raised £40 so far.

The running side of it is not so good a I still cant run with my pulled chest muscle. It doesnt see to be getting better!!! I'm hoping to get out running over the festive season and see how it is. I'm a bit sad by it all as I felt I was doing really well.

Just a setback I guess...we all have them!!

Happy Running x

Sorry to hear you're out of action on the running front. There's still time! On the bright side great news and well done on Fundraising! I've not had much luck with shops; no one's responding... But it should be ok, will see how things pan out next year. Good work!
