Ok,so I have a Golden Bond place for the Virgin London Marathon 2010!! Yipee!!

Im raising money for LOOK which helps kids with visual impairments and will be donning a fancy dress of sorts to help me along the way. I was unlucky in the 2000 ballot and have always wanted to do a Marathon.....and its taken 10 years!

Im looking forward to the training although it's been a while since the running. Was always fit until children came along so the challenge should be fun!!

Hopefully this blog will keep me motivated!

Getting back into it all now!

I am really getting into this running thing now.Managed 18.7 miles in total this week and feel quite good on it. It was only because I was able to get out more in the daytime. In the evenings I have to limit my routes due to lack of streetlights so it's very repetitive and BORING!

I joined a gym as well but I cant bring myself to run on the treadmills. They are so stuffy and horrible.

I did my LSR yesterday so having a nice relaxing day today. I did 8 miles yesterday.Had a bit of a wobble when the Garmin claimed it was about to run out of power. Bloody cheek....just when I need to document my longest run to date and you go and fade on me.The NERVE!!

Thankfully it didnt. Very pleased I was and felt surprsingly good after it.I even managed to avoid the post race headache. Hurray.Cool

My friend helped me drum up some support yesterday for my Quiz night but I need to get the finger out and keep on sending letters.I dont know what takes up more time...running or fundraising.

So one week gone and another week closer to the big day.Hopefully people will start donating other wise my husband is going to pay me £1300 to run the London Marathon in a beach volley ball outfit...which if you dont know consists of very little material and there is not enough money in the world to make me do that......well maybe there isWink

Have a good week running to whoever is running. x

From what I've seen of beach volleyball outfits there isn't enough material to pin your race number to - so there's your get out clause!!
Best of luck with it - whatever you wear.

Well done on the 8 miles. Keep building up nice and slowly so your body gets used to the running stresses and you avoid injury.

The beach volleyball outfit sounds interesting! You would DEFINITELY get cheered on by the crowds!! ;0)

Never mind the money, just go for the outft anyway - you'll stay nice & cool & it'll be very aerodynamic!

Oh I love Beach Volley Ball.

But the GF thinks I'm just a pervert watching it.

Not true I love the tactics and the intricate nature of the battles ......... Oh who am I kidding I love the skimpy outfits !!!

Good luck as it might be cold in April !!

If you go down the Beach Volley outfit, you might get yourself a good tan if it's sunny. Not sure you'll get much support though....if you know what I mean... lol

Beach volley outfit I wonder if that would be a first for the marathon,as long as it is not cold!
Garmins and long runs tell me about it lol, my LSR yesterday and both mine decided to play up,think tommorow will just run with my normal stop watch!
Good Luck with your training!
