It's been a long time! Drag me from the misery bench.

Bloody flu !!!

I've never had flu in my puff until 2 weeks ago.My husband had it and then I caught it.What a horrible couple of weeks.I'm still not right as I have a chest infection. The thought of running is so far  away at the moment that I'm having a crisis of confidence.

One good thing is that 3 weeks ago I did my first 10k. 1 hr and 15 minutes. Thanks to my dad and my friends who cheered me on at the endCool.

I find it quite intimidating with everyone overtaking me. lol But hey I finished and I'm not out to break any records.

So running plans out of the window for the moment.Only just getting my strength back so might just make do with fundraising things for now.Got another good prize for my charity raffle and have also been selling stuff on Ebay for my charity too. It helps clear my house of stuff and raises cash for LOOK at the same time.

It's been a month since I've been on here and I feel so out of touch with running.

Well off to buy some winter running stuff as I'm still dressed for summer....something luminous beckons!!

  • Flumptious 'Well done on the 10k! You did it faster than I did my last 2. Yesterday I took 1h24, but onlt because I got horribly lost. I was aiming for 1h05, and I've been running for well over a decade. So you're doing great! Don't try and run while you're still ill. You WILL get back fine *when* your body is ready.' added 16th Nov 2009

  • frannys_feat 'Get better soon, there's still loads of time to train and you'll come back fighting I'm sure. I've sold one thing on Ebay for my charity (I'm such a minimalist I clear out stuff all the time and regret it lately) and did a boot sale recently (other people's stuff). Good luck with your fundraising.' added 16th Nov 2009

  • squa25 'Good to hear you cracked the 10k milestone. Well done! Recover from your flu and then you can get started again. Plenty of time still! Glad to hear fumdraising is going well. I've not done anything for a while that's made any money. Sent off some letters to bucket shake but not got dates or locations firmed up yet. Where are you getting all your prizes from? I'm really struggling on that front. ' added 16th Nov 2009
