Ok,so I have a Golden Bond place for the Virgin London Marathon 2010!! Yipee!!

Im raising money for LOOK which helps kids with visual impairments and will be donning a fancy dress of sorts to help me along the way. I was unlucky in the 2000 ballot and have always wanted to do a Marathon.....and its taken 10 years!

Im looking forward to the training although it's been a while since the running. Was always fit until children came along so the challenge should be fun!!

Hopefully this blog will keep me motivated!

Oh yes!! That's what I'm talking about.

10 MILES!!!

Oh yes...am I happy? Hell yeah. Have reached double figures at long last.

It was a horribly, cold morning when I set out but at least it wasn't frosty.I decided against using my Ipod for the first few miles because it was so quiet and peaceful running along the country roads.

6 cars,3 deer, and 1 empty tin of Quality Street later and I had reached back home at the 6 mile mark. The plan was to stop quickly for a stretch and a drink and then head off again. I felt really good actually which surprised me but it was probably down to the fact that I paid attention to what I ate and drank the day before!!

So headed off again along the dual carriageway which is always a bit daunting with giant trucks whizzing by....it also amazes me the amount of drivers who pick their noseCool. And quite sad to see the amount of rubbish that folk dispose of along the road including a few bottles of orangey liquid...which I'm damn sure ain't juice!Undecided

It was baltic along here and I felt my bum getting numb...well I didnt actually feel it ...it just felt like it had gone missing. I had to stop at 8 miles for a big stretch.I'd had a bit of  niggly knee and the cold didn't help it at this stage.

Even though I had 2 miles to go home it WAS THE LONGEST 2 MILES YET! Urgh, I had to stop looking at that bloody Garmin...

And then I made it home.Hurrah!!!!!!  I am happy because if I look back at this blog to July 2009...I managed half a mile!! So there...it does work...

I felt like I could go on too..which is great because I KNOW I can do more and I've just gotta be patient.

CoolLaughing

Happy running xx

Great, well done! I haven't managed 10 miles sinc October, so you're doing a lot better than me!

Superb effort. And extra brownie points for stopping when you should, as opposed to carrying on until totally finished physically and ignoring the plan, well done!!
