Ok,so I have a Golden Bond place for the Virgin London Marathon 2010!! Yipee!!

Im raising money for LOOK which helps kids with visual impairments and will be donning a fancy dress of sorts to help me along the way. I was unlucky in the 2000 ballot and have always wanted to do a Marathon.....and its taken 10 years!

Im looking forward to the training although it's been a while since the running. Was always fit until children came along so the challenge should be fun!!

Hopefully this blog will keep me motivated!

Outside at long last..

My laptop does NOT like this blog much.

It's very slow today..a bit like my run last night. This was my first outside run in God knows how many weeks.Well God DOES know and he is saying "Yeah like you're getting around the Marathon before daylight goes!"

I'm not saying how far or how long but considering I was down with flu, then pulled muscles and then crappy weather it wasnt too bad. lol.

I wasn't impressed in the slightest at running on the treadmill at the gym as I was facing a grey wall. There was a telly to my left but I can't run with my head tilted. And the belt seemed to be creaking the faster it went .I half expected the screen to tell me how many mince pies I had consumed over the festive season!

So the running mojo is creeping back.Even if I did have to run with flashy lights on so I could be seen. There were a bit useless to begin with as one of them fell off as I was crossing a road only to be missed by centimetres by a car...the light not me!! (because he could see me flashing!)

I'm a bit sore today but I'm glad I made it out.

Finally booked the hotel for London last night.Woo hoo.3 nights for me and my husband. It's all getting a bit real now!

Off for a longer run tomorrow.

Happy Running x

Glad to hear the light survived! Would have been terrible to see it crushed. I think we're all glad to see the end of the snow. Think it's less than 100 days to go! Exciting! Just praying ... Literally that might foot holds out these last few months. We're all turning to god... For this that the other, and I'm not even religious. Haha. Hope tmrw goes well.

I'm going to have a go on the treadmill at work at lunchtimes (once this ****ing chest infection is properly gone!). I figure that I love running by the river, but in the rain, with glasses on, I will prefer the treadmill in the gym!
Well done, though. Don't give up! You WILL get there!

I have the hotel booked (just one night) and the train tickets - decided to splash out on first class, just me and dad going as wife not keen on entertaining kids all weekend in London without me! It all seems very real now!

Well done on getting the outdoor run in - sure as you get more outdoor runs the mojo will return. And as for pace and distance as long as you are happy with whatever it was thats great - we are not racing each other but running together
