The nerves are starting!!!

Urgh, I am starting to get nervous about everything now!!

Its been a few week since my last blog and the running has been going well.I have had to seriously stop reading other Buzzer's posts about mileage and progress because it is playing havoc with my brain.

Because of my dodgy feet etc I've had to rethink what was left of my makey-up training plan and have sorted something out (thanks to help from these forums) So I have been getting out running during the week, just around the 3 miles mark...last Sundays was 8 and a quarter.

Tomorrow its a ten.I'm taking a different route...down by the river for a change of scenery. I have more good tunes on the iPod and making sure I eat and drink well today. I NEED this ten to go well....it's been a while since I was back there and I'm scared!! I have the Inverness Half next week so hopefully that can just slot in .I'm not racing just a pleasurably 'jog'

I caught the first episode of Eddie Izzard's Marathon thing the other night and it's really helped with my motivation.Surely I can do this???? (just the one though!)

I'm glad the weather has been improving. It's helping my mood to have a bit more daylight!

Not long until my Quiz night.I'm STILL sending letters and I'm getting nervous about it all. I've had a little boost as I met Mark Beaumont on Thursday night.

For those that haven't heard of him...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/cyclingtheamericas/2009/05/welcome-to-cycling-the-america.shtml

and he had the record for cycling around the world (for a short time!)

So he stole my parking place in Tesco and I went to have a chat with him lol

(In all honesty I have met him a few times before and I had mentioned that I was running the marathon so I wasnt a parking-place stalker or anything)

He is still adjusting to being back home and hates being in Tesco so I waffle on about my marathon effort. He is very kindly going to donate a cycle top for my auction!   Great... I leave him to his shopping and head home....forgetting to change from 4th to 5th gear on the dual carriageway resulting in some burning stench in my car! lol

My mind was full of Quiz night stuff on the way home and how best to get more funds.  Arghhhhhhh. Its taking over my life.

Last night was spent stuffing envelopes.Today I'm posting more stuff...

I thinking of doing a cake sale soon and perhaps roping some friends in to help at their workplaces. I find it hard because I dont work that I dont have access to loads of people!!

Wish me luck for my ten miles tomorrow and have a fab weekend! x

  • squa25 'Keep at it with the running, you'll get there. As for the Fundraising, get all your friends to hold a coffee / tea morning / cake sale. You'll make quite a bit if they all do it. Hold a dinner party and charge an entry fee. Your friends are getting something for their money that way . Letters can be time cosuming and expensive with little return so you should try some of the above to give you a boost. Good luck. Hope the quiz makes you loads. ' added 6th Mar 2010

  • Flumptious 'Hope the ten miles are fun. Well, not 'fun' during, I expect (unless you're weird!), but I hope they go OK, and you feel very pleased with yourself afterwards. You go, girl!' added 6th Mar 2010

  • Account_closed 'Good luck with the 10miles, if you take it easy it'll soon pass. And as for the Inverness half, I wish I was doing it. I stayed in Inverness for the Loch Ness Marathon I 2008, and was very impressed with the city. Having a friend in Glasgow whom I'm enticing down to do the Chester Marathon in May, I feel that I should return the favour in 2011 so am looking at some of the 'Isle of' races (Coll, Mull etc etc) with envious eyes.' added 6th Mar 2010
